Mary Rogers Nonnemacher

Mary Rogers Nonnemacher, 61, of Exeter Township, Berks County was granted her angel wings on Sunday, November 27, 2011 after suffering from a short fight with cancer. Mary was born on September 24, 1950, in Stroudsburg, PA to the late John and Edith (Zuerker) Rogers. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from East Stroudsburg State University in 1971. Mary always said that the best things in life were not things, but her family, friends, and faith. She enjoyed an active life of sailing, hiking, reading, volunteering, traveling, kayaking and designing her authentic sea glass jewelry.

Mary leaves to cherish in her memory; her beloved husband of 40 years, Jerry Alan Nonnemacher, her two married children, Jessica Marie (Nonnemacher) wife of Thomas L. Stewart of Charlotte, NC and John Bennett (Ben) husband of Ellen C. (Cipoletti) Nonnemacher of Reading PA and four brothers, Ray Rogers and Michael Rogers of Stroudsburg, PA and Robert Rogers and William Rogers of Troy, NY. Mary’s pride and joy were her three surviving grandchildren, Alexis Paige Nonnemacher, Marlee Marie Stewart, and Maxwell Allan Stewart. Mary will be remembered for her selfless and kind nature that touched all those who were privileged to know her and she will be missed beyond words.

Mary’s wishes not to have a funeral will be honored and her legacy will be celebrated by her family and friends in the many memories she gave us.
