Mary M Wood

Mary M. Wood, 95, of Luther Meadows, formerly of Easton, PA and Honeoye, NY, died Monday, October 15, 2012 in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. She was the widow of the late Franklin W. Wood who died in 1980.

Born March 22, 1917, she was a daughter of the late Harvey W. and Laura (Eckhardt) Walters. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Topton. Mrs. Wood was a 1935 graduate of Phillipsburg High School, Phillipsburg, NJ. She was employed as a secretary for 25 years for Ingersol-Rand, Phillipsburg, NJ, retiring in 1982. Mary enjoyed making crafts and being active in her church.

She is survived by Son, William W., husband of Joan S. (Slifer) Wood, Oley; Daughter, Elaine M. (Wood), wife of Lt. Col. Ret. Richard T. Keene, Honeoye, NY, and Step-Daughter, Nancy C. (Wood), wife of Reverend Arthur L. Hahn, Jr., Topton. There are also 6 Grandchildren and 12 Great-Grandchildren. She was pre-deceased by 4 Brothers and a Sister.

Marys wishes were to donate her body to Humanity Gifts Registry, Philadelphia. Memorial services will be held Friday, November 23, 2012 at 10:30 AM from Grace Lutheran Church, One South Home Avenue, Topton. Inurnment will be private at the convenience of the family in St. James Lutheran Church Cemetery, Phillipsburg, NJ. Friends may call Friday from 10:00 to 10:30 AM in the church.

The family requests contributions be made to The Lutheran Home at Topton SLS Endowment Fund for Benevolent Care, One South Home Avenue, Topton, PA 19562. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Topton, PA.
