Mary L Spangenberg

Mary L. Spangenberg, 98, formerly of Stony Run and Philadelphia died Monday, January 26, 2009 in the Lutheran Home at Topton. She was the wife of the late Norman Spangenberg who died on November 27, 1972.

Born in Fox Chase near Philadelphia, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Mary (Montgomery) Livezey. She was a member of St. Timothy’s Lutheran Church, Philadelphia. She was a telephone operator at the former Bell of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, for approximately five years; and, a manager at the former Marquetands Candy Store, Frankford, for eight years.

She is survived by Daughter, Mary M. (Spangenberg) wife of Robert L. Christy, Lancaster; Son, Norman G. husband of Kathleen S. (Logue) Spangenberg, Stony Run; 8 Grandchildren, 11 Great Grandchildren, 1 Great Great Grandson. She was recently predeceased by her Brother, John P. Livezey.

Memorial Services are Saturday, January 31, 2009 at 10:00 AM in St. Timothy’s Lutheran Church, 7965 Fillmore Street, Philadelphia. Interment in Lawn View Cemetery, Abington.

The family requests contributions to the American Cancer Society, 3893 Adler Place, Bethlehem, PA 18017. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Kutztown, PA.
