Mrs. Mary Ida Derr

Mary Ida (Adams) Derr, 96, of Kutztown, passed away on Sunday, May 29, 2022 in Lehigh Valley Hospital - Cedar Crest, Salisbury Township. She was the widow of Willard H. Derr who died on June 4, 2002.

Born in Weisenberg Township, Lehigh County, Mary was a daughter of the late Robert V. and Lydia C. (Reimert) Adams. She was a member of Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, Krumsville and was a Homemaker. Mary enjoyed quilting, embroidering and puzzles.

Mary is survived by her daughter, LuAnn M. (Derr), wife of Neil C. Bortz, Kutztown; grandson Timothy A. Bortz, Kutztown; two great-grandchildren, Lucas Tolley and Lillian Tolley; and several nieces and nephews and their families.

Along with her husband and parents, Mary was predeceased by her sister, Irene R. (Adams) Christman on April 26, 2017; and a brother, Wayne Adams.

A funeral service to celebrate and honor Mary's life will be held on Thursday, June 9, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. in Ludwick Funeral Homes and Cremation Care, Inc., 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown, with Vicar Jeremiah T. Heydt officiating. Burial will follow in New Bethel Zion Cemetery, Krumsville.

Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing on Thursday morning from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home.
