Mary (Husar) Haurus, 98, of Blandon, PA, formerly of Yardley, PA, died Friday, January 29, 2016 in her residence, one week after celebrating her 98th birthday. She was the widow of Nicholas Haurus, who died in 1998.
Born in New York City, NY, she was a daughter of the late John and Anna (Ratuszny) Husar. Mrs. Haurus was a member of Saint Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Kutztown, where she was a member of the Faith Sharing group. She was a graduate of Dickinson High School, Jersey City, NJ. Mrs. Haurus was a member of the Saint Bonaventure Fraternity of the Secular Franciscan Order. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by a Daughter, Marguerite E. (Haurus), wife of Barry C. Kern, with whom she resided in Blandon; Son, Philip J., husband of Linda (Howerton) Haurus, Miami, FL; 3 Grandchildren, Nicholas Haurus, Jessica (Haurus) Eason, and Marybeth Kern; and one Great Granddaughter, Grace Eason. Mary was predeceased by a Daughter, Rosemary A. Haurus in 2004; 2 Sisters, Vera (Husar) Hannon and Nadia (Husar) Cahill; and one Brother, Paul Husar.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at 10:00 AM in Saint Mary's Roman Catholic Church, 14833 Kutztown Road, Kutztown, with Reverend Msgr. Walter T. Scheaffer as Celebrant. Interment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Basking Ridge, NJ. Relatives and friends may call Tuesday morning from 9:00 to 10:00 AM in the church.
