Mary E Hoch

Mary E. Hoch, 92, formerly of Kutztown, died Tuesday, May 27, 2008 in Mosser Nursing Home, Upper Macungie Township, where she resided since September 27, 2006. She was the widow of Clarence H. Hoch who died April 17, 2003.

Born in the village of New Jerusalem, Rockland Township, she was a daughter of the late Albert B. and Ellie Mae (Eidle) Heffner. She was a member of Saint Paul’s United Church of Christ Church, Kutztown. She first worked as a knitter at the former Leininger’s Knitting Mill, Lyon Station for seven years. She then worked 22 years as a food server in the dining hall of Kutztown University until her retirement in 1982.

She is survived by Daughters, Joan M. H. wife of Robert E. Gangewere, Kutztown, Ellen L. H. wife of Joseph E. Litzenberger, Macungie; Son, Mahlon C. H. husband of Patricia A. (Liggett) Hoch, Kutztown. There are two Sisters, Martha E. (Heffner) wife of David Moyer, Fleetwood, and Laila E. Heffner, Luther Haven, Topton; two Brothers, Elam Jackson E. Heffner, Philadelphia, and Lester E. Heffner, Reading. In addition, there are 6 Grandchildren, Mark R. Gangewere, James A. husband of Kristen H. (Dietrich) Gangewere, Dyane E. (Litzenberger) wife of Mark Miller, Robert M. husband of Amy (Kressley) Hoch, Lisa M. (Litzenberger) wife of Keith Smith and Michael J. Litzenberger; and 3 Great Grandchildren, Chad J. and Thea S. Gangewere and Kiowa G. Smith.

Funeral Services are Friday, May 30, 2008, at 10:30 AM from Ludwick Funeral Homes, Inc., 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown. Interment in Hope Cemetery, Kutztown. Friends may call Friday, from 9:30 to 10:30 AM.

The family requests contributions be made to Saint Paul’s United Church of Christ Memorial Fund, 47-51 South Whiteoak Street, Kutztown, PA 19530. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Kutztown, PA.
