Mrs. Mary E. Haas

Mary E. (Malone) Haas, 78, of Maxatawny Township, died unexpectedly Monday, April 1, 2024, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. She was the widow of Larry D. Haas, who died June 19, 2014. Born in Kutztown, she was a daughter of the late Patrick and Velma (Stein) Malone. She was a member of the U.C.C. congregation of Zion's Union Church of Maxatawny.

Mrs. Haas was a graduate of Kutztown Area High School, class of 1963. She worked in the binding department at Kutztown Publishing Company, Kutztown, and was the secretary for her husband's patternmaking business, John Medernach, Inc., Whitehall, PA.

Mary enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She had a love of nature, the outdoors, and bird watching.

Mary is survived by her son, Christopher D., husband of Laura E. (Archerd) Haas, Evergreen, CO; daughter, Courtney D. (Haas), wife of Michael D. Kellum, Kutztown; brother, Timothy, husband of Geraldine Malone, Venetta, Oregon. There are also four grandchildren, Peyson and Emerson Haas, and Maisy and Cooper Kellum. In addition to her parents and husband, Larry, Mary was predeceased by brothers, Neil and Ronald.

A public visitation will be held on Sunday, April 7, 2024, from 2:00 to 3:30 p.m. in Ludwick Funeral Homes and Cremation Care, Inc., 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown. Services and inurnment will be private at the convenience of the family.
