Mary E. Bauer, 95, of Macungie, died Saturday, February 16, 2013 in HCR ManorCare, Allentown. She was the widow of Charles D. Bauer, Sr., who died December 23, 1978.
Born in Kenhorst, Berks County, she was a daughter of the late Franklin A., and Grace (McCarthy) Drey. She was a member of the Lutheran Congregation of St. Peters Union Church, Macungie, where she formerly served as a Sunday School teacher. Mrs. Bauer was employed as a sewing machine operator by the former Superior Tubing, Bechtelsville. She was also employed as a server at the former Doe Mountain Ski Resort, Macungie. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Seisholtzville Fire Company.
She is survived by Children, Joan B. (Boyer), widow of Leroy R. Hildenbrand, Red Hill, Montgomery Co., Douglas A., husband of Linda F. (Rauch) Boyer, Macungie, Larry E., husband of Lydia H. (Oister) Boyer, Pottstown, Veronica L. (Boyer), wife of Roland B. Schuler, Quakertown, Charles D., Jr., husband of Rosemary C. (Reifinger) Bauer, Alburtis, Linwood R., husband of Jane C. (Welliver) Bauer, Alburtis, Lillian E. (Boyer) Hoffman, address unknown; Sister Minnie M. (Drey), widow of Edward Kline, Sr., Macungie. There are also 29 Grandchildren, 64 Great Grandchildren, and 42 Great-Great Grandchildren. She was predeceased by a Daughter, Sandra R. (Boyer) Miller-Grim, and three grandchildren.
Memorial Services are Thursday, February 21, 2013 at 11:00 AM in St. Peters Union Church, 7863 St. Peters Road, Macungie. Inurnment will be private at the convenience of the family. Friends may call Thursday from 10:00 to 11:00 AM in the church.
The family requests contributions be made to St. Peters Union Church Memorial Fund, 7863 St. Peters Road, Macungie, PA 18062. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Topton, PA.
