Mary Arline DeVaul, 86, formerly of Seaville, NJ, died Saturday, June 2, 2012 in The Lutheran Home at Topton where she was a resident since 2007. She was the widow of Charles L. DeVaul, Sr. who died January 15, 2004.
Born in Northfield, Atlantic County, NJ, she was a daughter of the late Earl R. and Rebecca C. (Collins) Brown. Mrs. DeVaul was of the Methodist faith. Mary Arline was a 1943 graduate of Ocean City High School, Ocean City, NJ, graduating as valedictorian of her class. She was the head bookkeeper at The Lutheran Home in Ocean View, NJ for 21 years, retiring in 1985. She was active in the National Organization for Mental Heath in Cape May County, NJ and is a member of the Nation Alliance for Mental Health Illness.
She is survived by Sons, Bruce C. DeVaul, Philadelphia, PA and Charles L., Jr., husband of Kathleen A. (Farina) DeVaul, Topton, PA. Other survivors include a Sister, June C. Christian, Topton, PA and 2 Granddaughters, Jessica M. and Megan C. DeVaul. She was predeceased by a Son, Allen E. DeVaul in 1954 and a Brother, Earl D. Brown.
Memorial Services are Thursday, June 7, 2012 at 6:30 PM in Deibert Hall on the Campus of The Lutheran Home at Topton, One South Home Avenue, Topton. Inurnment will be private at the convenience of the family. Friends may call Thursday from 5:30 to 6:30 PM.
