Marvin P Stamm

Marvin P. “Sonny” Stamm, 76, of Mertztown, died Sunday, October 24, 2010 at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township, where he was a patient since October 19, 2010. He was the husband of Geraldine J. (Eckenroth) Stamm. They were married December 4, 1954.

Born in Leesport, he was a son of the late Adam C. and Miriam T. (Spease) Stamm. He was a member and Deacon and former member of the Consistory of Saint Peter’s U.C.C. Church, Topton. He and his wife were former sextons of the church. He was last employed as a truck driver for SuperValu, formerly G.H. Delp, Muhlenberg Township for over 25 years until his retirement in 1997; Prior to that he was a bus driver for Carl R. Bieber Tourways, Inc., Kutztown, for over 15 years. He was a member of the Teamsters Union.

He is survived by Wife; Sons, Marvin P. Jr. husband of Patricia A. (Lutz) Stamm, Mertztown; Steven R. husband of Kathryn M. (Buchert) Stamm, Lenhartsville; Daughter, Donna D. (Stamm) wife of Jeffrey A. Suchomelly, Exeter Township. Other survivors include Sisters, Edna M. (Stamm) wife of John J. Schultz, and Gloria D. Stamm, both of Mohrsville; Brothers, Warren M. husband of Maylene Stamm, Mohrsville; and David H. husband of Marian Stamm, West Lawn. In addition there are Grandchildren, Michelle R. (Suchomelly) wife of William P. Seiders, Steven G. Stamm fiancé of Kristen L. Gross and Amanda K. Suchomelly; Step Grandchildren, Carl E. III, husband of Jamie Stoeber and Tara L. (Stoeber) wife of Corey Moss; Great Granddaughter, Kierra R. Suchomelly; Step Great Grandchildren, Natasha C. Stoeber, Keith E. Stoeber, Kayla Stoeber and Gabrielle Moss. He was predeceased by a Sister, Janice E. (Stamm) Seidel and Brothers, Stephen M., Carl A., Keith A., and Robert L. Stamm.

Funeral Services are Friday, October 29, 2010, 10:30 AM from Ludwick Funeral Homes, Inc., 25 East Weis Street, Topton. Interment in Berks County Memorial Gardens, Maidencreek Township. Friends may call Thursday, from 7:00 to 8:30 PM in the funeral home.

Flowers may be sent or contribution may be made to the memorial fund of Saint Peter’s UCC Church, 122 West Franklin Street, Topton, 19562 or American Cancer Society, 498 Bellevue Avenue, Reading, 19605. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Topton, PA.
