Marvin J Kistler

Marvin J. Kistler, 83, of Boyertown, died peacefully Saturday, August 9, 2008 in his residence. He was the husband of Kathryn E. (Brensinger) Kistler. They were married May 26, 1943.

Born in Upper Macungie Township, Lehigh County, he was a son of the late Frederick J. and Jennie A. (Frey) Kistler. He was a member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Mertztown. He was a US Navy veteran of World War II. He was a Supervisor for 38 years at Med-Ed Corporation, Boyertown, retiring in 1987. He was a Past Worshipful Master of Masonic Lodge #741, F. & A. M., Boyertown, a past president of the Longswamp Democratic Club, a past member of the Longswamp Lions Club, and a past member of the Brandywine Heights Area School Board.

He is survived by Wife, Sons, Marvin J. Jr. husband of Elaine C. (Smullin) Kistler, Kutztown, Kenneth C. husband of Marie E. (Wolfe) Kistler, Emmaus; Sisters, Edna M. (Kistler) Kohler, Alma F. (Kistler) Ganon, Pauline E. (Kistler) wife of Evertt Arndt. He is also survived by 4 Grandchildren and 1 Great-Grandchild. He was predeceased, by Brother, George W. Kistler late husband of Ruth (Trexler) Kistler, a resident of the Lutheran Home at Topton.

Funeral Services are Thursday, August 14, 2008 at 10:30 AM in the Ludwick Funeral Home, 25 East Weis Street, Topton. Interment with military honors provided by Ray A. Master, Post #217, American Legion, Topton, in Longswamp Union Cemetery, Mertztown. Friends may call Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 AM; Masonic Services by Boyertown Lodge #741, are Thursday at 10:15 AM.
