Marlin R. Fox, 87, of Kutztown, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 30, 2024 in Arden Courts Memory Care Community, Easton. He was the loving husband of MaryAlice (Knittle) Fox, who died on July 25, 2024, and whom he married on August 29, 1959.
Born in Fleetwood, Marlin was a son of the late Warren B. and Mamie A. (Schlegel) Fox. He was a 1955 graduate of Kutztown Area High School and was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Kutztown.
Marlin was employed by the former Harry W. Knittle Farm Equipment, Kutztown for 16 years. He then worked as an oil burner mechanic for the former George Y. Brubaker, Inc., Kutztown, for five years, and lastly, as a maintenance mechanic for Kraft Foods, Fogelsville, for 28 years, until his retirement in 1999.
Marlin enjoyed hunting and maintaining his yard and garden around his home. He also was an accomplished and talented taxidermist. Marlin enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, who he was a proud supporter and watcher of their sporting events.
Marlin is survived by his three children, Allen R., husband of Shelly (Hartline) Fox, Fleetwood, Donna L. (Fox), wife of James Oswald, Hoover, AL, and Brian R., husband of Rebecca (Kemp) Fox, Shoemakersville; sister, Jane D. (Fox), widow of Donald Seidel, Hamburg; six grandchildren, Emily Fox, Kyle, husband of Aubrey (Hammond) Fox, Zebulun Oswald, Sara Marshall, Tanner Fox and Jaden Fox; and two great-grandchildren, Parker Ann and Reed Fox. Along with his wife MaryAlice and parents, Marlin was predeceased by his two sisters, Gloria F. (Fox) Smith and Joyce F. (Fox) Miller.
A joint memorial service to celebrate and honor both Marlin and MaryAlice will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. in Ludwick Funeral Homes and Cremation Care, Inc., 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown, PA with their fellow classmate, The Rev. Richard A. Miller officiating. Joint burial to follow in Hope Cemetery, Kutztown. Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation on Saturday morning from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home. The family requests those who attend to come in casual attire.
