Mrs. Marjorie P. Geiger

Marjorie Pearl (Rauenzahn) Geiger, 96, formerly of Mertztown, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 7, 2023 in The Lutheran Home at Topton. She was the widow of Wayne A. Geiger who died on April 8, 2000.

Born in Topton, Marjorie was a daughter of the late Edwin A. and Clara E. (Laird) Rauenzahn. She was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Topton, and was a former member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Fleetwood. Marjorie was employed by the former Smith Bros. Pharmacy, Topton, in the Laundry Department at the Lutheran Home at Topton, as a Binder by the former DayTimer Co., East Texas, as a Reporter for The Morning Call, Allentown, and by the Brandywine Heights Area School District, working as a Cafeteria Worker in the Middle School. However, for most of her life, Marjorie was a Homemaker.

Marjorie was a member of Order of Eastern Star, East Penn Chapter No. 336, Kutztown, Pioneer Grange No. 1777, Topton, and enjoyed crocheting, knitting, sewing, gardening, bowling, golf, and making clothes for her children when they were young. Above all, she loved her family more than anything.

Marjorie is survived by her three daughters, Dawn C. (Geiger), wife of Thomas LaVerdure, Fleetwood, The Rev. Mary Ann (Geiger), wife of Alton Hamm, Macungie, and Robin L. (Geiger) Beach, Topton; daughter-in-law, Jessica A. (Heater) Geiger, widow of predeceased son, Gary W. Geiger, who died on December 9, 2018; eight grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers, Robert G. Rauenzahn, and Patrick M. Rauenzahn, both of Topton.  In addition to her husband, parents, and son, Marjorie was predeceased by her siblings, June E. (Rauenzahn) Boyer, Edwin A. Rauenzahn, Jr., Raymond A. Rauenzahn, Forrest L. "Foss" Rauenzahn, and Wayne C. Rauenzahn, who also died the same day.

A memorial service to celebrate and honor Marjorie's life will be held on Friday, April 14, 2023 at 12:00 noon  in Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 121 S. Home Avenue, Topton, with The Reverend Scott Lingenfelter officiating. Burial will follow in Topton Union Cemetery, Topton. Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation on Friday morning from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon in the church.
