Marilyn M. (Spatz) Miller, 93, formerly of Greenwich Township and Mertztown, passed away on Monday, August 19, 2024 in Laurel Center - Genesis Healthcare, Tilden Township. She was the widow of Carl S. Miller, who died on January 28, 2019 and whom she married on June 25, 1949.
Born in Tilden Township, Marilyn was a daughter of the late Arthur E. and Mabel M. (Berger) Spatz and was a 1949 graduate of Hamburg Area High School.
Marilyn was a member of Zion's Church, Windsor Castle, where she was a former assistant choir director and organist. She worked as a Secretary at Giorgio Foods, Inc., Temple, for several years. Most recently, she was a homemaker.
Marilyn was a member of the Virginville Grange No. 1832 and the former Virginville Lion's Club. She was also the former organist at St. Paul's (Smoke) Lutheran Church, Hamburg, and a former 4H Leader. Marilyn enjoyed reading, word puzzles, sewing and enjoyed collecting bells.
Marilyn is survived by her six children, Carline M. (Miller), widow of Nelson E. Blatt, and companion of the late Richard Lutz, Shoemakersville, Diane L. (Miller), wife of Robert A. Kern and widow of William C. Dietrich, Kempton, Bonita L. (Miller), wife of Michael Gehringer, Westfield, Potter Co., Candace E. (Miller), wife of John Epting and widow of Donald Walton, Jr., Hamburg, Jeffrey C., husband of Beth (Cooper) Miller, Kutztown, and Tamara S. (Miller), wife of Dean A. Mathias, Mertztown; 18 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister, Betty J. (Spatz) Kerschner, Hamburg.
Along with her husband and parents, Marilyn was predeceased by her infant daughter, Melody LuAnn Miller in 1967, and a sister, Pauline V. (Spatz) Dalton.
A funeral service to celebrate and honor Marilyn's life will be held on Monday, August 26, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. in Zion's Church, 770 Zion's Church Road, Hamburg, PA with The Reverend Randy Bond, officiating. Burial will follow in the adjacent Zion's Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing from 9:00 to 10:45 a.m. in the church.
