Marie L. Hellwig, 78, of 1457 Rockey Road, Loganton, PA, formerly of Mertztown, PA, died Wednesday, May 12, 2004, in Susque-view Home, Lock Haven, PA. She was the wife of John A. Hellwig.

Born in Lehigh County, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Mamie (Peters) Heiser. She was a therapist aid for over 15 years at the Lutheran Home at Topton, Topton. She was a graduate of the former Topton High School, Topton, PA, now part of the Brandywine Heights Area School District. She was a member of the Sugar Valley Lions Club, the Lock Haven Lioness Club and the former president of the VFW Auxiliary Post 71, Mertztown. She was a member of Albright United Methodist Church, Loganton.

She is survived by Husband; Son, Leonard Hellwig, North Troy, VT; Sister, Althea Schaeffer, Topton.

Viewing Friday, May 14, 2004, 7:00 to 9:00 PM in the Wayne P. Urbine Funeral Home, Inc., Main and Water Streets, Loganton. Funeral services are Monday, May 17, 2004 at 2:00 PM from the Ludwick Funeral Home, 25 E. Weis Street, Topton. Interment in Longswamp Union Cemetery, Mertztown. Friends may call Monday morning from 1:00 PM until time of services.
