Maria Alaimo

Maria (Sferrazza) Alaimo, 93, of Kutztown, formerly of Brooklyn, NY, died peacefully, Thursday, May 6, 2021, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, under hospice care.  She was the widow of Antonio Alaimo, who died April 29, 2009.   Born in Castrofilippo, Sicily, Italy, she was a daughter of the late Vincenzo Sferrazza and Calogera Taibi.  Maria was a member of Saint Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Kutztown, she was a devout Catholic and possessed a strong faith.

Maria is survived by a son, Rosario "Ross", husband of Antonia (Liotta) Alaimo, Kutztown.  There are four grandchildren: Maria Rita Alaimo; Antonio G., huband of Brianna R. (Nickle) Alaimo; Emmanuela A. Alaimo; There is a great granddaughter, Arabella C. Alaimo.  A grandson Salvatore G. Alaimo passed away June 23, 2010.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 12, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. in Saint Mary's Roman Catholic Church, 14833 Kutztown Road, Kutztown, with The Reverend Monsignor Walter T. Scheaffer, as Celebrant.  Entombment in Hillside Mausoleum 3, at 2:30 p.m., The Green-Wood Cemetery, 500 25th Street, Brooklyn, New York 11232.  Relatives and Friends may view in the church from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m.
