Margie M Delp

Our beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother Margie M. Delp, 76, of Luther Haven, Topton, died Thursday, February 15, 2007 in the Reading Hospital and Medical Center, West Reading, where she had been a patient since February 9, 2007. She joins all of those angels that watch over us. She was the wife of the Rev. Lawrence P. Delp. They were married on August 25, 1950.

Born in South Tamaqua, Schuylkill County, PA she was the daughter of the late Franklin J. Arner, Sr. and the late Emma M. (Schaeffer) Arner. She was a 1947 graduate of Tamaqua High School, Tamaqua, and a 1949 graduate of Allentown Business School, Allentown. She was an active, caring person throughout her life. Her love was always preceded by a smile. As recently as last February she spent a week in New Orleans helping Katrina victims. Known as the grandmother of the group, she participated in every facet of helping those people. She was active in many aspects of the missions at the Lutheran Home at Topton. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Fleetwood. Throughout her life as the wife of a pastor she was active in the choir, the Lutheran Church Women and led many children’s services while her husband served at the following churches: St. John’s Lutheran Church, Berrysburg (Dauphin County), Christ Lutheran Church, Conyngham (Luzerne County), St. John’s Lutheran Church, Bath (Northampton County), Faith Lutheran Church, Mt. Penn (Berks County), Jerusalem Lutheran Church, Trachsville (Carbon County) and St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Gordon (Schuylkill County).

She is survived by Husband, Sons, Lawrence F. husband of Jeanne E. (Federer) Delp, Doylestown, John M. husband of Laura D. (Dalaveris) Delp, Fleetwood; Sister, Mary (Arner) widow of Adelchi Dotter, Bethlehem; Grandchildren, Lawrence M. Delp, Davis S. Delp, Jodie B. (Delp) Difatta; Great Grandchildren, Alex M. Difatta and Abigail K. Delp. She was predeceased by a son David J. Delp in 1996 and a brother Franklin J. Arner, Jr. in 2005.

Funeral Services are Monday, February 19, 2007 at 1:30 PM in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 117 E. Arch Street, Fleetwood. Private interment in Zion Stone Church Cemetery, New Ringgold. Friends may call Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 PM in the Ludwick Funeral Home, 25 E. Weis Street, Topton, and Monday from 12:30 to 1:30 PM in the church.

The family requests contributions to The Lutheran Home at Topton, One South Home Avenue, Topton, PA 19562. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Topton, PA.
