Margaret N Gates

Margaret N. (Hollenbach) Gates, 86, of Topton, passed away Monday, April 28, 2015 in The Lutheran Home at Topton, where she had been a resident for the past four years. She was the widow of Reuben B. Gates, who passed away in January 1962 .

Born in Lewisburg, Union County, on January 3, 1929, she was a daughter of the late William and Verna (Schaffer) Hollenbach. Margaret was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church, Wescosville .

She is survived by Son, Ronald, husband of Marian Gates, Kutztown; Daughters, Sharee L. Gates and Barbara E. Gates, both of Topton, with whom she resided for over ten years. She also leaves behind a Granddaughter, Sheila Gates; Grandson, Ronald, Jr., and his wife, Amata Gates; 4 Great-Grandsons and one Great-Granddaughter. Also, special family friend Cathy Kelly and her children, Lisa (Kelly), wife of Alan Pfizenmayer, and their Son, Tyler; James, husband of Ashley Kelly, and their children, Cameron and Brady .

Graveside Services will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2015 at 11:00 AM in Mazeppa Union Cemetery West, Mazeppa, Union County .

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made in Margaret's memory to The Lutheran Home at Topton, Attn: Recreation Committee, 1 South Home Avenue, Topton, PA  19562, because our mom enjoyed playing BINGO every week with her friends, sponsored by the Recreation Committee. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Topton, PA.
