Mamie A Schearer

Mamie A. Schearer, 99, formerly of Highland Avenue, and Saucony Cross, Kutztown, died Saturday, February 26, 2005, in Kutztown Manor Nursing Home, Kutztown, PA. She was married to the late Archie A. Schearer who died March 27, 1978.

Born in the Village of Wescosville, Lower Macungie Twp., Lehigh County, she was the daughter of the late Richard C. and the late Annie A. (Snyder) Meitzler. She was employed from 1925 to 1929 as a first, second, and third grade school teacher at the former Steel City School, Bethlehem. She also taught in Breinigsville, Lehigh County. She was a tour guide for Carl R. Bieber Tourways, Kutztown, for many years. She was a 1925 graduate of Kutztown Normal School, now Kutztown University. She was a member of Saint Paul’s UCC Church, Kutztown. She was a member of Kutztown Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary, Kutztown, and the Kutztown Senior Citizens, Kutztown.

She is survived by Sons, William C. Schearer, Carlisle, Frederic C. Schearer, Kutztown (Maxatawny Twp.), David J. Schearer, Hyde Villa, Reading (Muhlenberg Twp.); Daughter, Alliene L. (Schearer) wife of James Pyle, Concord, NH; 12 Grandchildren, 8 Great Grandchildren.

Memorial Services are Saturday, May 14, 2005 at 11:00 AM from St. Paul’s UCC Church, 47-51 South Whiteoak Street, Kutztown. Interment at the convenience of the family. No calling hours. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Kutztown, PA.
