Mae Kunkel

Mae B. (Biehl) Kunkel, 98, formerly of Topton, and Kutztown, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 31, 2025 in The Lutheran Home at Topton. She was the widow of Carl A. Kunkel, who died February 28, 2005. They had been married 60 years at the time of Carl's passing. Born in Greenwich Township, Mae was a daughter of the late Harry and Stella E. (Rader) Biehl. Mae was an active member of Hope Evangelical Lutheran Church, Bowers.

Mae was employed at the former Schukraft Florist, Kutztown.

Mae is survived by a daughter, Randy S. (Kunkel), wife of Richard L. Angstadt, Lyon Station; a son Brian L., husband of Cindy D. (Mattias) Kunkel, Oley; a daughter-in-law, Arlene "Susie" (Haas) Kunkel, widow of predeceased son Cedric "Rick" Kunkel, who died February 25, 2017. Other survivors include eleven grandchildren; many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Carl, son Rick, and parents, Mae was predeceased by a sister, Edna M. (Biehl) widow of Edward Johnson.

A graveside service to celebrate and honor Mae's life will be held on Monday, April 7, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Union Cemetery of Bowers, 63 Old Bowers Road, Bowers, with The Reverend Martin A. Milne, officiating. There are no public viewing or calling hours. Contributions in Mae's memory may be made to Hope Lutheran Church, PO Box 88, Bowers, PA 19511-0088.
