Mae E Erb

Mae E. Erb, 89, formerly of Noble Street, Kutztown, PA, died Saturday, September 4, 2004, in the Henry Health Care Center of The Lutheran Home at Topton, Longswamp Twp., Berks County, PA, where she was a resident since September 25, 2003. She was married to the late George F. R. Erb, who died January 31, 1989.

Born in Topton, PA, she was the daughter of the late Henry W. and the late Annie L. (Gehringer) Yoder. She, along with her late husband, owned and operated Erb Electric, Kutztown from 1943 until their retirement in 1980. She was a 1932 graduate of Kutztown Area High School. She was Miss Topton in 1932. She was a member of Saint John’s United Church of Christ Church, Kutztown, and a past president of its Ladies Aide Society. She also was a member of the Consistory and Choir for many years.

She is survived by Sons, George H. C. Erb, Morgan Hill, Calif., Lee W. Erb, Kutztown; Daughter, Patricia A. (Erb) Leibensperger, Allentown; 6 Grandchildren; 3 Step Grandchildren; 12 Great Grandchildren; 7 Step Great Grandchildren; and 5 Great-Great Step Grandchildren. She was predeceased in death by a daughter, Mary L. (Erb) Schaeffer, who died in 1982.

Funeral Services are Thursday, September 9, 2004 at 10:30 AM from Saint John’s United Church of Christ Church, 257 West Walnut Street, Kutztown. Interment in Hope Cemetery, Kutztown. Friends may call Wednesday, 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM in the Ludwick Funeral Home, 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown, and Thursday, 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM in the Church.

The family requests contributions be made to the Memorial Fund of the Church, 19530. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Kutztown, PA.
