Mae D. Romig, 80, of Kutztown, died Sunday, March 10, 2013 in The Lutheran Home at Topton. She was the widow of Earl R. Romig, who died October 28, 2005.

Born in Kutztown, she was a daughter of the late Henry and Helen (Smith) Greenawald. Mrs. Romig was a member of St. Pauls United Church of Christ, Kutztown. She was a 1950 graduate of Kutztown Area High School. Mrs. Romig was employed as a secretary by Rhode Agency Insurance Company, Kutztown from 1980 until her retirement in 1998. Mae enjoyed quilting and spending time with her family.

She is survived by Daughter, Bonnie L. (Romig), wife of Timothy E. Swavely, Topton; Sons, Jack R., husband of M. Camille (Eaton) Romig, Barto, Scott T. Romig, Hamburg, and James M. Romig, husband of Laura Q. Broh, Norristown; Brother, Clifford L., husband of June S. (German) Greenawald, Breinigsville, Brother-in-law, Malcolm D. Balthaser, Kutztown. There are also 7 Grandchildren, Peter T. Swavely, Thomas A., husband of Tyra (Spracklin) Swavely, Nicholas E. Romig, Daniel M. Romig, Samuel W. Romig, Elsa C. Romig, and Sadie J. Romig; and 4 Great Grandchildren. She was predeceased by a Dister, Shirley S. (Greenawald) Balthaser; and a Brother, Carl Smith.

Funeral Services are Thursday, March 14, 2013 at 11:00 AM from St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, 47 South Whiteoak Street, Kutztown, 19530. Inurnment will be private at the convenience of the family in Berks County Memorial Gardens, Fleetwood. Friends may call Thursday from 10:00 to 11:00 AM in the church.

Flowers may be sent, or contributions may be made to St. Paul’s UCC Memorial Fund, 47 S. Whiteoak St., Kutztown, PA, 19530. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Kutztown, PA.
