Mabel Kerchner

Mabel Kerchner, 92, of Mertztown, died Saturday, April 28, 2012 in the Lutheran Home at Topton, where she had been a resident since 2010. She was the widow of Lewis C. Kerchner, who died in 1989.

Born in Longswamp Township, she was a daughter of the later Edwin and Sarah (Meck) Beitler. Mrs. Kerchner was a member of St. Pauls Lutheran Church, Mertztown.

She is survived by Daughter, Doris E. (Kerchner) wife of Carl J. Epting, Mertztown; Sons, Clifton K. husband of Suzanne B. (Burgert) Kerchner, Macungie, and Tony N. Kerchner, Trexlertown; 4 Grandchildren, 4 Great Grandchildren, and a Great-Great Grandson.

Graveside services and interment will be private in Longswamp Union Cemetery, Mertztown. There are no calling hours.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the Alzheimers Association of Berks County, 237 Court Street, Reading, PA 19601-4990. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Topton, PA.
