Lynne D. (Kunkle) Sell, 81, formerly of Kutztown and most recently of Country Meadows, Wyomissing, passed away on Saturday, August 19, 2023 in The Lutheran Home at Topton. She was the widow of Larry F. Sell, whom she married on August 4, 1962 and who died on December 20, 2008.
Born in Allentown, Lynne was a daughter of the late James and Elma (Bellis) Kunkle and was a graduate of Parkland High School. Lynne was employed as a teacher's assistant at the Kutztown University Daycare Center for many years. Lynne lived a life rooted in compassion and selflessness, consistently lending a helping hand to those in need.
She was a volunteer for Berks Encore, Fleetwood, with their Meals on Wheels program, as well as at The Brandywine Community Library, Topton.
Lynne enjoyed traveling, bus trips with the Alburtis Seniors, Lower Lehigh Seniors and Lower Macungie Seniors and learning about her ancestry. She was also a very crafty lady who was talented at painting, ceramics and wood crafts. She had a love for music, especially the sounds of David Phelps.
Lynne is survived by her three children, Wayne L., husband of Gail L. (Hertzog) Sell, Mertztown, Rodney F., husband of Christina D. (Solar) Sell, Pembroke Pines, FL, and Tracy D. (Sell), wife of Scott S. Cote, Blandon; sister, Kay (Kunkle) Reuber, Bethlehem; eight grandchildren, Sean, Kevin, Jenna, Tyler, Chloe, Dylan, Garett and Natalie; and a great-grandson, Warren. Along with her husband and parents, Lynne was predeceased by her daughter Deborah L. Sell in 1967 and a brother, Bruce Kunkle.
A funeral service to celebrate and honor Lynne's life will be held on Thursday, August 24, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. in Ludwick Funeral Homes and Cremation Care, Inc., 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown, with The Reverend Arthur L. Hahn officiating. Burial will follow in Union Church Cemetery, Neffs. Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing on Thursday morning from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home.
