Lucille L. (Barto) Bieber, 90, a resident of the Buehrle Center, on the campus of The Lutheran Home at Topton, and formerly of Kutztown, died peacefully on Friday, February 26, 2016. She was the widow of Donald F. "Barney" Bieber, who died on October 27, 2012.

Born in Kutztown, Lucille was a daughter of the late Paul D. and Miriam M. (Balthaser) Barto. Mrs. Bieber was a member of Saint John's Lutheran Church, Kutztown, where she was a former church secretary in the 1960's, nursery Sunday school teacher, a member of the alter guild, and also helped with the construction of the quilts. Mrs. Bieber was a 1942 graduate of Kutztown Area High School, where she served as class secretary. She briefly worked as a teller at the former Kutztown National Bank, Kutztown, but most recently, was a homemaker. Lucille was a member of the Kutztown Jaycee Wives, Kutztown Lioness, a life member of East Penn Chapter 336, Order of the Eastern Star, Kutztown, and the Kutztown Historical Society. She also served as Judge of Elections in Kutztown for many years, and enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting and handwork. Lucille was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother who loved spending time and taking care of her family.

She is survived by a Daughter, Audrey M. (Bieber), wife of Donald L. "Spike" Miller, Bowers; Son, Andrew D., husband of Cynthia I. (Jones) Bieber, Orlando, Florida; 3 Grandchildren, Thomas A., husband of Jennifer A. (Jessen) Miller, East Brunswick, NJ, Devin C. Bieber and Collin P. Bieber, both of Orlando, FL; and 2 Great Grandchildren, Kevin P. Miller and Brandon T. Miller. Lucille was predeceased by a Sister, Marilyn H. (Barto) Merkel.

A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, March 3, 2016 at 11:00 AM in Saint John's Lutheran Church, 201 East Main Street, Kutztown, with Reverend Mary Ann Hamm officiating. Inurnment will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Kutztown. Relatives and friends may call on Thursday morning from 10:00 to 11:00 AM in the church.

The family requests contributions be made in Lucille's memory to Saint John's Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, 201 East Main Street, Kutztown, PA  19530. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Kutztown, PA.
