Lowell Glenn "Skip" Kocher, 89, of Greenwich Township, PA, formerly of Washington, NJ, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, October 11, 2022 in his residence. He was the loving husband of Sharon K. (Butcher) Kocher, whom he married on June 20, 1981.
Born in Washington, NJ, Lowell was a son of the late Charles R. and Lorraine R. (Eberhardt) Kocher and was baptized and attended the First Methodist Episcopal Church. He also attended Washington High School. Skip honorably and faithfully served his country in The United States Army during the Korean War. Skip was a skilled and talented builder and carpenter and for many years, owned and operated Lowell G. Kocher, Building Contractor, until his retirement. In addition to building many homes, Skip enjoyed building furniture and crafting homemade gifts for others.
Skip was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, trapping, and fishing. He was a proud member of the NRA, National and PA Trapper's Associations, and Kempton Rod and Gun Club.
Along with his wife of 41 years, Sharon, Skip is survived by his two sons, James M. Klinder, Stanhope, NJ, and Bryan S., husband of Amy S. (Hilliard) Klinder, Hope, NJ; four grandchildren, Reilly J. Klinder, Macyn J. Klinder, Ashton P. Klinder and Jacob T. Klinder; brother, Donald Kocher, and sister, Joyce (Kocher) Rupell, both of Washington, NJ. In addition to his parents, Skip was predeceased by his two brothers, Charles Kocher and Robert Kocher.
The family will host a memorial service to celebrate and honor Skip's life on Saturday, October 22, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Salem Church, 2150 Old Rt. 22, Lenhartsville, PA, with Pastor Dave Long officiating. Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. in the church. The rendering of military honors will conclude the service.
