Lorraine R Schauer

Lorraine R. Schauer, 87, formerly of Topton, died, October 29, 2015, in Berkshire Center, Exeter Township.  She was the widow of Howard P. Schauer who died February 19, 2012.

Born in Seisholtzville, PA she was a daughter of the late Eilus and Mary Elizabeth (Smith) Siegfried. She was a member of St. Peter’s United Church of Christ, Topton. Lorraine was employed as a supervisor for General Electric Corp., Reading for 31 years, retiring in 1996. She also worked for many years for Jim Rau Dog Shows, Ltd., West Reading, as a dog show coordinator. Mrs. Schauer was a member of the Ray A. Master Post 217 American Legion Auxiliary and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary.

She is survived by Son, Brand H. “Skip” husband of Sopa (Konsing) Schauer, Limerick, PA; Sisters, Louise (Siegfried) Kramer, Fleetwood, Marian J. (Siegfried) Rex, Bowmanstown; Brother, The Rev. David P. Siegfried, Wyomissing, Grandchildren, Kelly L. (Schauer) wife of Daniel A. Hughes, Ryan H., husband of Melinda T. (Tillson) Schauer, and Great Grandchildren, Ethan J. and Avery C. Schauer.

Memorial services will be Wednesday, November 4, 2015, at 11:00 AM from St. Peter’s UCC Church, 122 W. Franklin St., Topton, with The Reverend Roger M. Ulrich officiating. Inurnment in Topton Union Cemetery, Topton. Friends may call from 10:00 to 11:00 AM in the church.
