Mrs. Lorraine M. Greiss

Lorraine M. (Seaman) Greiss, 89, formerly of Mertztown, PA, passed away peacefully on Friday evening, December 8, 2023 in The Lutheran Home at Topton. She was the loving wife of over 51 years to Earl E. Greiss, whom she married on July 15, 1972. Her first husband, Richard E. Roth predeceased her on January 17, 1971.

Born in Shartlesville, PA, Lorraine was the daughter of the late Robert R. and Alma F. (Wagner) Seaman. She graduated from Longswamp High School in Berks County. She last worked as a Dietary Aide at The Lutheran Home at Topton in 1996. She was previously also employed at Adidas Shoe Factory, Kutztown, from 1987 to 1990 and at Royal Manufacturing Co., Alburtis, from 1984 to 1987. Prior to employment, she dedicated her days to homemaking and raising her children.

Lorraine was a Lifetime member of the Kutztown Grange No. 1836, where she had served as an officer and finance committee member. She was named Granger of the Year in 2000. She was also a member of Huff's Union Church, Alburtis. In her earlier years, she enjoyed volunteering at all Grange events, sewing, crocheting, and cooking.

Along with her husband, Earl, Lorraine is survived by her three daughters, Nancy L. (Roth) Sattazahn, wife of Nick Sattazahn, Hamburg, JoAnn L.(Roth) Behney, wife of Robert Behney, Trexlertown, and Mary P. Greiss-Coult, Coopersburg, companion of Brad Kelly; son, Robert P. Roth and his companion, Joann Miller, Ephrata; five grandchildren, Joshua Sattazahn, Kaitlyn (Behney) Dolich, Benjamin Coult, Nathanael Coult and John Coult; and four great grandchildren, Kylie, Brayden, and Adalyn Dolich and Aubree Sattazahn.

Along with her first husband and her parents, Lorraine was predeceased by a grandson Jonathan N. Sattazahn on October 18, 2007 and her brother, Harold R. Seaman on January 17, 2016.

A funeral service to celebrate and honor Lorraine's life will be held on Friday, December 15, 2023 at 1:00 pm. in Ludwick Funeral Homes and Cremation Care, Inc., 25 East Weis Street, Topton. Burial will follow in Longswamp Union Cemetery, Mertztown. Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing on Friday from 12:00 to 1:00 pm in the funeral home.
