Linda J Delong

Linda J. (Stern) DeLong, 61, of Mertztown, died Thursday, August 11, 2011 in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township surrounded by her loving family. She was the widow of Paul E. DeLong who died October 10, 2006.

Born in Maxatawny Township, Berks Co., she was a daughter of the late Elton D. and Carrie C. (Gambler) Stern. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Topton. Linda was employed as a cashier for Giant Food Stores, Trexlertown, from 2000 to present. She was a member of the Topton Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary, Topton, where she served as vice-president. Linda was a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed nature, gardening, and spending time with her family.

She is survived by Daughter, Andrea L. (DeLong) wife of Peter A. Moyer, Mertztown; Step-Daughter, Buffy Marie (DeLong) George, Pottstown; Sisters, Patricia A. (Stern) widow of Newlin Pompiano, Robesonia, and Nancy L. (Stern) widow of Frank Smaltz, Wind Gap. She is also survived by 2 Grandchildren, Zackary D. and Chase A. Moyer, and 2 Step Grandchildren, Brandon P. and Justin L. George.

Funeral Services are Tuesday, August 16, 2011 at 10:30 AM in the Ludwick Funeral Home, 25 East Weis Street, Topton. Interment in Hope Cemetery, Fleetwood. Friends may call Monday evening from 7:00 to 8:30 PM in the funeral home.
