Linda A. Keiser, 66, of Hereford Township, died Friday, March 12, 2010 in Lehigh Valley Hospital In-Patient Hospice Unit, Allentown, where she was a patient since March 9, 2010. She was the wife of Elvin H. Keiser, Jr. They were married December 12, 1959, having just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.
Born in New Berlinville, she was a daughter of the late Robert A. and Helen R. (Leh) Schleicher. She was a member of the Lutheran congregation of Huff’s Union Church, Alburtis, where she was the church sexton until her illness. She also was a former Sunday school teacher, a member of the vocal and hand bell choirs, and a confirmation mentor. Previously she was director of the hand bell choir, member and past president of the ladies aid and member of worship and music committee. She also was assistant director of the cherub and junior choirs. She also directed the annual Christmas pageant at Huff’s Union Church each year. She was a member of Dutch Players Group. She loved to sing, often singing as a soloist at Huff’s. She also participated in choruses in the area. She worked in the production and shipping department at Pillsbury Corp., at its former East Greenville plant for 22 years.
She is survived by Husband, Daughter, Julie A. (Keiser) Brought, Reading; Sons, Michael J. husband of Agnes E. (Lightner) Keiser, Quakertown, and James L. Keiser, at home. There are 3 Sisters, Beatrice E. (Schleicher) Buum, San Diego, Calif, Lillian E. (Schleicher) Master, Palm, Montgomery County, Sandra R. (Schleicher) Eyer, Keller, TX; Brothers, Robert E. Schleicher, Alburtis, Linford S. Schleicher, Albrightsville, and Randy M. Schleicher, Boyertown. In addition, there are 2 Grandsons, Steven S. Edelman and Michael M. Edelman and 2 Step Grandsons, Justin M. Lightner and Jacob M. Lightner.
Funeral Services are Wednesday, March 17, 2010, at 11:00 AM from Huff’s Union Church, 540 Conrad Road, Alburtis. Interment in Huff’s Church Union Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday, 7:00 to 8:30 PM in Ludwick Funeral Home, 25 East Weis Street, Topton, and Wednesday, 9:00 to 11:00 AM in the church.
The family requests contributions be made to Capital Improvement Fund of Huff’s Union Church, 540 Conrad Road, Alburtis, PA 18011. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Topton, PA.
