Mrs. Lillian S. Showalter

Lillian S. (Geiger) Showalter, 92, of Topton, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, February 22, 2022 in The Lutheran Home at Topton. She was the widow of Harold L. "Snoball" Showalter, Sr., who died December 6, 1993, and companion of the late Norman Geist.

Born in Macungie, Lillian was a daughter of the late Paul and Elda (Geist) Geiger and was a member of Hope Evangelical Lutheran Church of Bowers. She was employed by the former Caloric Corporation, Topton, but was a Babysitter for many years for children in the Topton area.

Lillian was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Ray A. Master Post 217, American Legion, Topton, where she also served as a past President, Topton Fire Company and Lyons Fire Company. She was also a member of the Topton Senior Citizens group as well as the former Red Hat Society of Topton. Lillian enjoyed baking, especially her delicious faschnauts and cakes. She would often bake for the various events held at the Topton Legion. She also enjoyed crocheting, watching General Hospital and CWTAP-Uncle Jeffrey's Station, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Lillian is survived by her children, Dwight W. Bucks, Topton, Beverly H. (Bucks), wife of Gary Grim, Fleetwood, Shelly A. (Bucks), wife of Scott A. Adam, Topton, Darryl N., husband of Wendy (Muma) Bucks, Topton, Kurt H., husband of Susan G. (Reinhard) Showalter, Topton, and Roy L. Showalter, Topton. She was "Big Mammy" to eight grandchildren, Joshua, Jana, Tiffany, Christian, Kora, Carter, Keene and Teagan; and four great-grandchildren, Cailey, Colton, Jase and Liam. She is also survived by her siblings, Raymond Geiger, Ralph Geiger, Mary Hoffman and Pauline Marks.

In addition to her husband and parents, Lillian was predeceased by her step-son, Harold L. Showalter, Jr. in 1985, a sister, Arlene (Geiger) Younger; and two brothers, Jesse Geiger and Henry Geiger.

A funeral service to celebrate and honor Lillian's life will be held on Friday, February 25, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. in Hope Evangelical Lutheran Church, 550 Fleetwood Road, Bowers, with The Reverend Dr. Jeremiah A. Sassaman officiating. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery of Bowers.

Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing on Friday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. in the church.
