Lester H A George

Lester H. A. George, 83, of Kutztown, formerly of Virginville and Millsboro, DE, died Wednesday, March 17, 2010 in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township, where he was a patient since March 11, 2010. He was the husband of Virginia F. (Keller) George. They were married September 9, 1950.

Born in Weisenberg Township, Lehigh County, he was a son of the late Walter A. and Edith M. (Smith) George. He was a member of the Reformed Congregation of Ziegel’s Union Church, where he served as a Deacon on the Church Consistory for eight years. He was employed as Maintenance Supervisor for McConway & Torley, Kutztown Foundry Division for over 33 years. He also owned and operated Lester George Electrical Service, Virginville for over 20 years. He was a member and Treasurer of the Virginville Lions Club for 20 years. He was a member, Trustee and Assistant Chief of Virginville Fire Company. He also was a member of Kutztown Fire Company and served as the handyman of Kempton Community Center.

He is survived by Wife; Daughters, Diana J. (George) wife of Wayne L. Heffner, Mertztown and Debra L. (George) wife of Bruce L. Angstadt, Lenhartsville; Son, Charles L. husband of Lisa S. (Fisher) George, Blandon. There is also a Sister, Luella (George) widow of Melvin Dotterer, Kempton. In addition, there are 5 Grandchildren, Mandy D. (Heffner) wife of David M. Hinkel, Jeremy L. George companion of AngelaNicholson, Eric C. husband of Jacqueline S. (Meck) Heffner, Nathan C. George, Brianne M. (George) wife of Zackary J. Tempesco; and 2 Great Grandchildren, Zachary D. Hinkel and Camron A. Hinkel.

Funeral Services are Monday, March 22, 2010, at 10:30 AM from Ludwick Funeral Home, 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown. Interment in Ziegel’s Church Union Cemetery, Weisenberg Township. Friends may call Sunday from 7:00 to 8:30 PM. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Kutztown, PA.
