Leon C Weiser

Leon C. Weiser, 93, of Kutztown, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Tuesday, July 28, 2015, in the residence of his Godson, Douglas E. Held, with whom he resided. He was the widower of Hilda E. (Schlener) Weiser who died June 28, 2014.

Born in the Village of Bowers, he was a son of the late Marcus and Sadie (Shearer) Wickert. Mr. Weiser was a member of Saint Paul's United Church of Christ, Kutztown. Leon faithfully and honorably served his country, serving in the United States Army, 83rd Infantry Division, during World War II. Leon was a 1940 graduate of Kutztown Area High School.  He enjoyed woodworking, photography, crafts, model airplanes, gardening, bird watching and pac-man. Mr. Weiser was employed as an assembler at the former Firestone Rubber, now Occidental Chemical Corporation, Pottstown, for many years until his retirement in 1978. Prior to that, he was employed as a clerk at the former Fenstermacher & Sons Hardware, Kutztown.

He is survived by Godson, Douglas E. Held, companion of Stacie D. Jones, Kutztown, with whom he resided; and 2 Nieces, Janet Ballard and Sandra Ann Conrad. He was predeceased by a Sister, Alma (Weiser) Stoudt; and a Niece, Beverly Jane Weiser.

Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Private interment will be held in Union Cemetery of Bowers, Bowers, PA. There is no public viewing.
