Lena M Bond

Lena Mae Bond, 97, formerly of Walnut Street, Kutztown, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 24, 2010 at Kutztown Manor. She was the wife of the late Harold Jacob Bond who died in 2002. They were married on April 12, 1936 in Allentown by Rev. Klingaman.

She was born in Weisenberg Township, Lehigh County to Phaon Llewelyn and Lillie Amanda (Kuhns) Gehringer. Until retiring in 1980, she worked in various factories in Kutztown and the surrounding areas, including Gilardone’s in Virginville and Deisher’s Knitting Mill in Kutztown. Lena was an avid gardener and loved her flowers. She also loved vacationing, crocheting and her family.

She is survived by Son, Kenneth P. husband of Betty L. (Fenstermacher) Bond, Mertztown; Daughters, Marie E. Bond, Reading, Erma J. Bond, Kutztown; Niece, Shirley Waidelich; Grandchildren, Robin Ream, Sally Keller, Amy Trumbauer, Christopher Bond, Denise Belluch, Rebecca Kunkleman, Stephanie Donahue, Tina Dietrich; Great Grandchildren, Solyn Ream, Sonya Ream, Dalton Davenport, Emma Trumbauer, Charles Trumbauer, Ava Bond, Jacob Bond, Ryan Belluch, Jessica Belluch, Amanda Maberry, Jacob Kunkleman, Clayton Kunkleman and Nicholas Oakes. She was predeceased by her Brother, Lloyd Gehringer in 2002, her Sister, Perma Peters in 1973 and Great Grandson, Luke Kunkleman in 2004.

Funeral Services are Saturday, August 28, 2010 at 11:00 AM in the Ludwick Funeral Home, 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown. Interment in New Bethel Cemetery, Albany Township. Friends may call Saturday from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Kutztown, PA.
