Lee N Grow

Lee N. “Grop” Grow, 66, of Five Points Road, Mertztown (Rockland Township), died Saturday, April 2, 2005, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest, where he had been a patient since March 24 ^th . He was the husband of Kathryn S. (Oswald) Grow. They were married on June 28, 1960.

Born in Hellertown, PA, he was the son of the late Robert and the late Beatrice (Goldberg) Grow. He was a forklift operator at the former Bally Case and Cooler, Bally for 25 years until 1995; and, he worked at the Lutheran Home at Topton, from 1997 to March 23, 2005. He was a life member of the Topton Volunteer Fire Company where he was an active fire policeman for 42 years, 24 years as captain. He was an active member of the Lyons Fire Company for over 30 years and a fire policeman for 15 years. He was also a member of the Kutztown Volunteer Fire Company, the Berks County Fire Police Association, a member of the Pike Township Sportsman’s Association and a member of the Old Time Plow Boys Club.

He is survived by Wife, Son, Dennis L. Grow, Topton; Daughters, Denise R. (Grow) Weaknecht, Lenhartsville, Dawn M. Schadler, Mertztown; Brothers, Richard Grow, Bethlehem, Russell Grow, Fredericksburg, PA, Frank Egneb, Allentown; Sisters, Doris (Grow) Snyder, Bethlehem, Claire G. (Grow) Hunsicker, Kempton; 7 Grandchildren. He was predeceased by brother Robert Grow, January 1, 2005.

Funeral Services are Thursday, April 7, 2005 at 10:30 AM from the Topton Fire Company, 600 State Street, Mertztown. Interment in Berks County Memorial Gardens, Fleetwood. Friends may call Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM and Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 AM in the fire company.
