Lee K. Heffner, 79, formerly of Mertztown, died Friday, May 8, 2009 in Heilman House on the campus of The Lutheran Home at Topton, where he resided for several years. He was the widower of Helen M. (DeLong) Heffner who died December 11, 1990.
Born in Longswamp Township, he was a son of the late Percy and Verna M. (Mest) Heffner. He was a member of Longswamp United Church of Christ. He was employed over 45 years as an assembler at Caloric Corporation at its former Topton Plant until his retirement in 1990. He was a member of the former Virginville Lions Club, Mertztown Rod & Gun Club, Lyons Fire Company, Ray A. Master, Post #217, American Legion, Topton and Topton Senior Citizens.
He is survived by Daughter, Louise G. (Heffner) wife of Karl L. Kunkel, Kempton and a Son, Wayne L. husband of Diana J. (George) Heffner, Mertztown. In addition there are 5 Grandchildren and 9 Great Grandchildren. Also surviving are 4 Sisters, Faye (Heffner) wife of Willard Barto, Mertztown, Jean (Heffner) widow of Richard Miller, Fleetwood, Goldie (Heffner) wife of Richard Carl, Mertztown and Betty (Heffner) Stump, Emmaus; 2 Brothers, Carl husband of Joan (Conrad) Heffner, Allentown and Paul husband of Elaine (Ely) Heffner, Kutztown.
Funeral Services are Tuesday, May 12, 2009, 10:30 AM from Ludwick Funeral Home, 25 East Weis Street, Topton. Interment in Longswamp Union Cemetery, Mertztown. Friends may call Tuesday, from 9:30 to 10:30 AM in the funeral home. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Topton, PA.
