Lee I. Seidel, 79, of Richmond Township, died Sunday, November 14, 2010, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township where he was a patient since November 8, 2010. He was the husband of Verna I. (Schmoyer) Seidel. They were married December 24, 1955.
Born in Breinigsville, he was a son of the late Herman G. and Verna C. (Smith) Seidel. He was a member of Zion Lehigh Lutheran Church, Alburtis. He was a US Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8282, Breinigsville. He worked as a batcher for Eastern Industries, Allentown for 20 years until his retirement in 1989. Since then, he worked as an auction assistant for Zettlemoyer Auction Company, Fogelsville. From 1959 to 1969 he worked as a batcher and truck driver for Berks Products, Kutztown, and prior to that, as a truck driver for the former Nothstein Trucking, Trexlertown. Lee and his wife, Verna, along with Verna’s four brothers operated a crop farm in Lynn Township, Lehigh County for over 20 years.
In addition to his wife of 54 years, he is survived by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services are Friday, November 19, 2010, at 2:00 PM from Ludwick Funeral Homes, Inc., 25 East Weis Street, Topton. Interment with Military Honors provided by Ray A. Master Post 217 American Legion, Topton in Lehigh Zion Cemetery, Alburtis. Friends may call Friday, from 1:00 to 2:00 PM in the funeral home. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Topton, PA.
