Larry A. Reinert, 82, of Richmond Township, PA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 20, 2026 in Mount Carmel Senior Living Community, Mount Carmel, PA. He was the widower of Doris E. (Yenser) Reinert, who died in 1984.
Born in Reading, PA, Larry was a son of the late Charles and Eva (Stern) Reinert and attended Kutztown Area High School. Larry honorably and faithfully served his country in The United States Navy for several years.
Larry was the owner and operator of Larry A. Reinert Trucking for 33 years until his retirement. Prior to that, he was employed as a Manager by Brentwood Industries in Reading, PA.
Larry was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #839, Kutztown, and Ray A. Master Post 217, American Legion, Topton, PA . He was his own mechanic and as a younger man was always outside working on his truck. He enjoyed fishing, traveling, and collecting things. He also had a great love for all animals and supported local cat rescue shelters.
Larry is survived by his two daughters, Cheryl L. (Reinert), wife of Ron Garber, Orlando, FL, and Michele L. (Reinert), wife of Jeff Davis, Richboro, PA; four grandchildren, Caitlin Garber, Micaela Garber, Emily Davis and Sean Davis; and his girlfriend of five years, Donna Gurba, Elysburg, PA.
A memorial service to celebrate and honor Larry's life will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. in Ludwick Funeral Homes and Cremation Care, Inc., 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown, PA. Burial, with military honors, will follow in Berks County Memorial Gardens, Fleetwood, PA. Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home.
As we bid farewell to Larry, let us remember him with joy and gratitude, celebrating a life well-lived and a heart well-loved. His legacy will continue to shine brightly in the lives of all who were fortunate enough to know him. May he rest in peace.
The family requests contributions be made in Larry's memory to One-by-One Cat Rescue, P.O. Box 272, Temple, PA 19560 in honor of his love for cats.
