Mr. Larry I. Siegfried

Larry I. Siegfried, 71, of Kutztown (Maxatawny Township), passed away peacefully on Friday, April 5, 2024 in his residence. Born on the family farm in Maxatawny Township, Larry was a son of the late Donald G. Siegfried, who died September 15, 1965, and the late Eleanor K. (Miller) Siegfried, who died July 29, 2023.

Larry was a 1970 graduate of Kutztown Area High School, and Kutztown University, where he received his bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. Following his college graduation, Larry realized that his love of farming was what he truly wanted to do as a life-long career, which spanned nearly 50 years. He was a member of New Jerusalem Zion United Church of Christ, Greenwich Township, and enjoyed going to concerts, especially to see Barry Manilow. Above all, Larry enjoyed spending time with his niece and great-nieces and great-nephew.

Larry also had many friends over the years and enjoyed going to restaurants, movies and concerts.  He was an avid Phillies fan and enjoyed going to Atlantic City and Las Vegas.

Larry is survived by his brother, Dennis D. (75),husband of Alice R. (Helbert) (70), Siegfried, of Kutztown; niece, Alicia R. (Siegfried) (40), wife of Christopher (41) Ernst, Blandon; three great-nieces, Kayla Marie Ernst (22); Kameryn Rose Ernst (19); Katelynn Emily Ernst (15); great-nephew, Noah Christopher Ernst (11); and a great-great niece, Eleanor Marie Ernst (1). Larry is also survived by his close cousins, Nancy L. (Miller) Scheidt, Kutztown; and Leatrice M. (Miller) Moatz, Topton.

A funeral service to honor Larry's life will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. in Ludwick Funeral Homes and Cremation Care, Inc., 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown, PA, with The Reverend Alton R. Zentner, officiating.  Interment will follow in New Bethel Zion Cemetery, Kutztown (Grimville). Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing on Saturday from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home.  The family invites those attending to do so in casual dress.
