Laila H Shade

Laila H. Shade, age 82, of Pricetown Road, Fleetwood PA, died Saturday, January 12, 2002 in the Henry Health Care Center of the Lutheran Home at Topton, Topton PA. She was the Wife of Robert Shade. The couple celebrated their 61st Wedding Anniversary last July.

Born in Rockland Township PA, she was the daughter of the late Homer and Ida (Dysher) Henry. She was a School Teacher for East Calico School District for 3 years, Ruscombmanor Township Grades 1- 8 for 5 years and an Elementary School Teacher in the Boyertown School District for 28 years. She was a Member of the Christ (Mertz) Lutheran Church, Dryville PA.

She was a Past Worthy Matron East Penn Chapter #336; past Grand Matron of District 15B of the Grand Chapter of PA, Reading PA; Past Royal Matron of Reading Court #61 of the Amarenth, Reading PA; and past Worthy High Priestess of Tiberias Shrine #21 of the White Shrine of Jerusalem, Reading PA. (All organizations are affiliated with the Eastern Star.) She received her Bachelor Degree in Education from Keystone Normal School, now Kutztown University.

She is survived by her Husband; and Son, Scott R. Shade of Brooklyn NY.

Services will be held 10:30 AM Wednesday, January 16, 2002 in the Church. Family and Friends may call 7:00 - 8:00 PM Tuesday evening in the Ludwick Funeral Home, 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown and 9:30 AM Wednesday in the Church. Interment in Hope Cemetery, Dryville PA.
