Kayla Marie West-Greiss, 17, of District Township, Berks County, PA, gained her angel wings on Monday, September 7, 2026, in her residence with her family by her side. Born in Philadelphia, PA, Kayla was a daughter of Anna Mae (Anders) Greiss, and the late Lloyd R. Greiss, who died on December 23, 2013.
Though her time with us was far too short, the depth of her love and the joy she brought to this world left an unforgettable mark on everyone who knew her. Kayla found immense happiness in life's simple pleasures. Whether she was with her family, or hearing them sing, she lived fully in the moment. Her presence was a constant reminder to slow down, appreciate the present, and love without boundaries.
In addition to her mother, Anna, Kayla is survived by her siblings, Delores D. (Greiss) Moyer and husband, Jeffrey of Alburtis, PA, Shirley A. (Greiss) Buck and husband, Larry of Kutztown, PA; Shamya Thomas Greiss and Bill L. Greiss both at home; five nieces, four nephews and two great-nephews.
Along with her father Lloyd, Kayla was predeceased by her grandmother, Anna (Moyer) Anders; step-grandmother, Wilma Lee (Showalter) Anders; and grandfather, LeRoy S. Anders.
The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to the medical staff, therapists, and caregivers who provided Kayla with endless comfort, dignity, and love throughout her journey.
