Mrs. Kathy A. Dietrich

August 2, 1971 — February 15, 2022

Kathy A. (Smith) Dietrich, 50, of Lenhartsville, died unexpectedly Tuesday, February 15, 2022, in Geisinger - Saint Lukes Hospital, Orwigsburg, after being stricken at home.  She was the wife of Perry A. Dietrich.  They were married April 18, 1998.  Born in Annapolis, Maryland, Kathy is a daughter of Lynn (Parsons), wife of Donald E. Scheffler, Breinigsville; and the late Kenneth D. Smith.

Kathy was a graduate of Parkland High School, Class of 1989.  While in High School, Kathy was a member of the Color Guard with the Marching Band.

Kathy was employed as an Industrial Hydraulics Senior Service Specialist, for Bosch RexRoth, Bethlehem, for 30 years; last working Friday.  Kathy also assisted her husband with clerical and bookkeeping for his business, Perry's Excavating, LLC, Lenhartsville.

In addition to her husband of 23 years, Perry; and Mother and step-father, Kathy is survived by a daughter, Suzanne L. Dietrich, at home.  Other survivors include a sister, Vicki E. (Smith), husband of Mark McIntosh, and their children, Miranda and Cassandra, Allentown; Step Sister, Daphne (Scheffler) Good, Germansville; and her children Daulton and Lauren. There are seven sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews.  There is also an uncle, Tom Parsons and cousins Amber Krauch and Mandi Pratt, all of Maryland.

A memorial service to celebrate and honor Kathy's life will be held on Monday, February 21, 2022, at 11:00 a.m., in Ludwick Funeral Homes and Cremation Care, Inc., 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown, with Pastor Dave Long, officiating. Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation with the family from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home prior to services. Inurnment will be private at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the Kathy A. Dietrich Memorial Fund to benefit daughter, Suzanne L. Dietrich's future educational needs, c/o Ludwick Funeral Homes and Cremation Care, Inc., PO Box 292, Kutztown, PA 19530-0292.
