Kathryn Focht, 95, formerly of Kuztown, died Thursday, April 19, 2007 in ManorCare, Laureldale. She was the wife of the late Charles W. Focht who died in May 20, 1976.
Born in Baltimore, MD she was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Julianna (Rosenberger) Young. She was the co-owner and operator of the former Focht’s Moselem Hotel, for 28 years retiring in 1974 and was known for her famous soups. She was a member of Becker’s St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Fleetwood.
She is survived by Daughter, Barbara A. wife of Marcus G. Held, Jr., Kutztown; Sisters, Julia widow of John Till, Reading, Elizabeth widow of Lester Balsbaugh, Fleetwood; Sister-in-law, Althea Young, Kutztown; Grandchildren, Patricia L. Harrigle, Whitehall, Bruce M. husband of Anna Marie Held, Sinking Spring, Jennifer C. wife of Robert Shick, Walnuttown; Great Grandchildren, Jason A. Harrigle and Gregory M. Harrigle of Whitehall, Ryan J. Held and Eric M. Held of Sinking Spring, Brett S. Shick and Brittany S. Shick of Walnuttown. She was predeceased by Sisters, Annie Hill, Anna Doremus and Margaret Young and Brothers, Nicholas Young and Jacob Young.
Funeral Services are Saturday, April 28, 2007 at 10:30 AM in the Ludwick Funeral Home, 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown. Interment in Becker’s St. Peter’s Cemetery, Fleetwood. Friends may call Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 AM.
The family requests contributions to Becker’s St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 265 Maidencreek Road, Fleetwood, PA 19522. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Kutztown, PA.
