Kathryn E. Kistler

Kathryn E. (Brensinger) Kistler, 93, a resident of Country Meadows, Allentown, and formerly of Boyertown, passed away on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 in the inpatient hospice unit of Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown. She was the widow of Marvin J. Kistler, Sr., who died on August 9, 2008. They were married May 26, 1943. Born in Longswamp Township, Kathryn was a daughter of the late John and Maggie (Hausman) Brensinger. She was a member of Saint Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Mertztown. Kathryn was a homemaker who enjoyed working in her yard, cleaning and making crafts. She was also a member of Order of the Eastern Star, Faith Chapter #444, Boyertown.

Kathryn is survived by her sons, Marvin J. Jr., husband of Elaine C. (Smullin) Kistler, Kutztown, and Kenneth C., husband of Marie E. (Wolfe) Kistler, Emmaus; four grandchildren, Nathan, Karly, Zachary and Anthony; and two great-grandchildren, Ruben and Viviann. In addition to her husband and parents, Kathryn was predeceased by three sisters and three brothers.

A funeral service to celebrate Kathryn's life will be held on Monday, July 16, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. in Ludwick Funeral Homes, Inc., 25 East Weis Street, Topton, with Reverend Dr. Jeremiah A. Sassaman officiating.  Burial will follow in Longswamp Union Cemetery, Mertztown. Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing on Monday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made in Kathryn's memory to St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, P.O. Box 117, Mertztown, PA  19539.
