Katherine A Wessner

Katherine A. (Piger) Wessner, 81, of Maxatawny Township , died Thursday, January 9, 2014 in her residence. She was the widow of Carl J. Wessner who died January 23, 2013 .

Born in Allentown , she was a daughter of the late John and Anna (Dresher) Piger. Mrs. Wessner was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Kutztown. She was a 1950 graduate of Parkland High School. Mrs. Wessner was employed as a secretary by Nothstein Brothers, Inc., Trexlertown for several years. She also worked as a bookkeeper for Wessner Brothers Farming, Kutztown, where her late husband, Carl, was a partner. In addition to being a dedicated farm wife, Katherine was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother .

She is survived by Sons; Daniel J., husband of Cynthia D. (Bond) Wessner, Krumsville, Bruce C., husband of Louise E. (Rhode) Wessner, Kutztown, Dale W., husband of Sheila J. (Rauch) Wessner, Kempton, and Roy A., husband of Elizabeth R. (Sanders) Wessner, Kutztown; Son-in-law, Thomas C. Reinhard, Kutztown, widower of predeceased daughter Carlene S. (Wessner) Reinhard who died April 16, 2012; Brother, Richard Piger, Breinigsville; 14 Grandchildren, Jenni L. Reinhard, Jennifer R. (Hoppes) Humbles, Cheryl L. (Hoppes) McLaughlin, Jeremy S. Reinhard, Katie E. Wessner, Tiffany J. Knabb, Jillian K. Yeakel, Jacob B. Wessner, Erica E. Knabb, Emma J. Wessner, Caleb J. Wessner, Janelle E. Geist, Heather L. Geist, Lucas J. Wessner; 6 Great Grandchildren, Ava L. McLaughlin, Lilyanna C.C. Humbles, Lincoln D.J. Humbles, Hailey O. Bauscher, Natalie B. Bauscher, Olivia C. Yeakel. She was predeceased by Brothers, Erick Piger, Emil "Pete" Piger, Irwin Piger, and Edward Piger .

Funeral Services are Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at 10:30 AM from St. John’s Lutheran Church, 201 East Main Street, Kutztown , 19530. Interment will follow in Ziegel's Church Union Cemetery, Breinigsville. Relatives and friends may call Tuesday morning from 9:00 to 10:30 AM in the church .
