Mrs. Karon L. Bower

Karon L. (Faust) Bower, 78, of Mertztown, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 21, 2023 in her residence. She was the wife of Robert C. "Bobby" Bower, whom she married on April 18, 1964.

Born in Fleetwood, Karon was a daughter of the late Robert C. Faust and Jeanette S. (Schleicher) Faust Pape. Karon was a 1962 graduate of Brandywine Heights High School, Topton, and was a member of Christ (Mertz) Lutheran Church, Dryville. Throughout her career, Karon worked in the payroll department and also as a switchboard operator at Atlas Minerals and Chemicals, Inc., Mertztown, as a sewing machine operator at the former Royal Manufacturing, Alburtis, and in the Housekeeping Department at The Lutheran Home at Topton. After her retirement, Karon was a volunteer at The Lutheran Home for nearly 10 years.

Karon loved to go shopping, travel to the beach, and could be found at the Topton pool in the summertime. When her daughters were younger, Karon was a Camp Fire Girl leader in Mertztown. Above all, Karon was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother who took great pride in taking care of her family.

Along with her husband of 58 years, Robert; Karon is survived by her three children, Tracey D. (Bower), wife of Keith A. DeLong, Fleetwood, Trudy L. (Bower), wife of Christopher E. Johnson, Exeter Township, and Toby C., husband of Luci R. (Brensinger) Bower, Topton; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Along with her parents, Karon was predeceased by a brother, Terry R. Faust in 1973.

A memorial service to celebrate and honor Karon's life will be held on Monday, February 27, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. in Ludwick Funeral Homes and Cremation Care, Inc., 25 East Weis Street, Topton, with The Reverend Martin Milne officiating. Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will held privately in Longswamp Union Cemetery, Mertztown.
