Karl H. Nolte, age 61, of 211 Church Hill Road, Lenhartsville PA, died Friday, June 16, 2000 at home. He was the husband of Virginia G. (Strohmetz) Nolte. They couple celebrated their 38th Anniversary June 16th.
Born in Darby, Delaware County PA, he was the son of the late Charles H. and the late Anna R. (Rothfuss) Nolte. He received his Associates Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Penn State University. He was employed for 27 years by General Electric, Philadelphia; After that he worked for Black & Decker, Allentown for two years; and then worked for Alpo Pet Foods, Allentown for six years. He was also a self-employed farmer for over 15 years. He retired in 1992. He was a member of Frieden’s Lutheran Church, Stony Run PA. He served in the United States Army and the Army National Guard.
He was a member of the Board of Directors of the Pennsylvania Farm Bureau (Berks County) for the past six years. He was a former Vice President of the Kempton Lions Club, He was a member the Greenwich Township Planning Commission for the past five years. He was also a member of the American Legion Post, Hamburg, PA. He was also a member of the Police Chiefs Association of Southeastern PA.
He is survived by his Wife; Daughter, Karen J. Nolte of Hazelton PA; Son, Karl H. Nolte, III of Lenhartsville PA; Sister, Jean E. (Nolte), wife of Thomas J. Frank of Glenn Mills PA and Two Granddaughters.
A Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, at 11:00 AM from the Ludwick Funeral Homes, 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown PA. Interment in Frieden’s Church Cemetery, Stony Run PA. Friends may call 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM. The family requests contributions be made to the Berks Visiting Nurses Association, 1170 Berkshire Boulevard, Wyomissing PA 19610.
