Mrs. June D. Mckently

June D. (Ream) McKently, 94, of Ruscombmanor Township, passed away on Thursday, April 6, 2023 in The Lutheran Home at Topton. She was the widow of Wilbur C. McKently who died on December 13, 1998.

Born in Rockland Township, June was a daughter of the late George J. Ream, Sr., and Catherine E. (Seidel) Ream and was a Homemaker. June was a longtime member of the former New Jerusalem United Church of Christ, Rockland Township. June enjoyed sewing, playing the organ, bird watching and was a wonderful baker. Above all, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

June is survived by her two children, Gary W., husband of Sherri L. (Rissmiller) McKently and Karen J. (McKently), wife of Donald R. Houck, both of Ruscombmanor Township; sister, Betty J. (Ream) Snyder, Fleetwood; four grandchildren, Ian, Madison, Ross and Dylan; and three great-grandchildren, Caden, Kellen and Remington. Along with her husband and parents, June was predeceased by her siblings, John G. Ream, Dick H. Ream, George J. Ream, Jr., Ronald G. Ream, Jack E. Ream and Ruth (Ream) Gauby.

A funeral service to celebrate and honor June's life will be held on Thursday, April 13, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. in Ludwick Funeral Homes and Cremation Care, Inc., 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown, with The Reverend Corrine Dautrich officiating. Burial will follow in Berks County Memorial Gardens, Maidencreek Township. Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing on Thursday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home.
