Joyce A. Schantz

Joyce A. (Hobert) Schantz, 86, of Longswamp Township, died Saturday, January 29, 2022, in her home. She was the widow of Burd W. Schantz, who died April 5, 2014. Born in New Berlinville, Berks County, Joyce was a daughter of the late Paul and Mary (Reichert) Hobert. She was a member of Huff's Union Church, Alburtis.

Joyce and her late husband owned and operated Show Top Farm Registered Holsteins, a dairy farm in Longswamp Township from 1952, now operated by her son David and grandsons Matthew and Nathan.

Joyce enjoyed baking, taking care of the property, her fruit trees, spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Joyce is survived by her son, David W., husband of Katherine A. (Danner) Schantz, Longswamp Township; Other survivors include a brother, Allen, husband of Marguerite (Lorish) Hobert, District Township; Three grandchildren: Megan E. (Schantz), wife of Jeffrey A. Ruth, District Township; Matthew D., husband of Rochelle R. (Goins) Schantz, Longswamp Township; Nathan D. Schantz, fiance of Daniele Conrad, District Township; great grandchildren: Asher, Heather, Allis Ruth; Michael and Evelynn Schantz.

A funeral service to celebrate Joyce's life will be held on Thursday, February 3, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. in Ludwick Funeral Homes and Cremation Care, Inc., 25 East Weis Street, Topton, with Reverend Dr. Jennifer M. Bannerman, officiating. Relatives and friends may view from 12:30 to 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Interment in Huff's Church Union Cemetery will be private at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to Huff's Union Church, 540 Conrad Road, Alburtis, PA 18011.
