Joseph Steven Weidner, 36, of Breinigsville, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 12, 2024 in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown, surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Chad S. Marsh, whom he married on April 4, 2015, after being a couple since 2008.
Born in Allentown, Joseph was a son of Steven R. and Diana L. (Leibensperger) Weidner of Mertztown. Joseph was a 2006 graduate of Brandywine Heights High School, Mertztown, and Reading Area Community College, where he received his associate's degree in business. Joseph also attended DeSales University in Center Valley, PA. For the past 17 years, Joseph worked in the insurance industry, working as a Licensed Insurance Agent and Senior Underwriter, for various insurance companies in the area.
Joseph was a member of Ripple Church in Allentown, where he was an active volunteer. He was also a chorus member of the former Brandywine Minstrels and participated in their yearly shows. Joseph enjoyed traveling, especially trips to his "Happy Place," in Lake George, New York. He was an avid card player and would play a nightly card game with his husband Chad before bedtime. Joseph was such a caring and giving person who will be sorely missed by those who knew him.
Along with his husband Chad, and parents Steve and Diana, Joseph is survived by his brother, Kyle M., husband of Leah M. (Marchanti) Weidner, Fleetwood, and their children, Blake R. and Chase M. Weidner; paternal grandmother, Ann E. (Eck) Weidner, Topton; brother-in-laws, Shaun R., husband of Stephanie Ann Marsh, Wind Gap, and their children, Fletcher, Nora, Sadie and Lincoln; and Todd A., husband of Jaime Kristen Marsh, Gilbertsville, and their twin children, Annelise and Kayley. Joseph was predeceased by his paternal grandfather, Edwin L. Weidner; and maternal grandparents, Marlin A. and Phyllis R. (Schwoyer) Leibensperger.
Joseph had a very close-knit group of friends, who shared countless memories and experiences together, among them were his friends from the Topton Pool. He also had countless friends whose lives he touched in a positive way.
A memorial service to celebrate and honor Joseph's life will be held on Tuesday, September 17, 2024 at 12:00 noon in Ludwick Funeral Homes and Cremation Care, Inc., 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown, PA. Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation from 10:00 to 11:45 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be held privately by his immediate family.
